Ten Things Of Thankful #4

I seem to be going on to a whole weekly update thing, especially as we are awaiting for our whole adoption thing to move again, apparently our SW has to wait for the go ahead from the decision maker... so until this we are still on hold, which is just a pain in the arse...

Well today is thankful day... although I don't feel all that thankful but here goes:

  1. Being Appreciated: I was actually thanked for everything that I did at work on sunday night, I did an extra shift so that the meds could be changed over ready for the month ahead. It didn't take too long and I also managed to destroy all the old medication. However the day nurses were very appreciative that I'd managed to get it all done in the evening, considering it usually takes about 3/4 days for it to get done.. (I don't know why)
  2. Showers: having one when you get in from the gym and your hot and sweaty and you just want to be clean, so having a nice shower is bliss. I also like having a shower when I get in from working a night shift just to clean work off me before heading to sleep or relazing for the day.
  3. My Husband: he is the most wonderful person in the world, this week we have had lots of time together and it has been good. We've wandered to London as hubby had a course and I was off work, so we walked around and enjoyed the sun...
  4. The gym: I'm still working hard at the gym, and still doing it about 3 times a week, its good fun, but also hard work. I did a good 2 hours today and certainly feel it now, but its a good feeling...
  5. Time off: granted this week I haven't had any time off such as annual leave, however due to the way that my rota has worked out I've actually had the week off, so lots of times to relax but also spend time with my husband.
  6. Spaghetti: It is one of the staple foods in my diet and I actually really like it. I am however in to pretty plain pasta such as carbonara... and due to my allergies this is actually very tasty... Needless to say I do like spaghetti... and I'm sure I'd eat it non stop if i could....
  7. A good team at work: it's always good when you have a team on who can both make you smile but also work hard and do what is asked of them, without this work is very hard, but also very monotonous.
  8. Laughing: Hubby and I do laugh a lot, we tend to have our own little jokes which will seep out at night when we are together... I think this is one of our amazing strengths and I'm thankful that we have this time together but also this bond to one another...
  9. Escaping: being able to just step away from everything, being able to just shut the door on the issue but also just close the window if it's on the pc... don't get me wrong, I'm not running from my problems, I just don't always want everything shoved in my face. I also can't stand people who glory hunt or think they know everything when they dont...
  10. Cuddles: need I say more....

Ten Things of Thankful #3

Hello...

It is Ten Things of Thankful Blog Hop day... so get your pogo sticks out and once you've read mine you can hop over to either one of the other hosts or one of the others who have linked up with us =D

So without further ado:

  1. Panel: I am very grateful that they saw in our favor and that our adoption journey will now continue... Granted still awaiting to hear anything from the SW but still the panel said yes which is a good thing...
  2. My Hubby, he has stood strong next to me throughout the last week, when we have had a lot of trials and tribulations but he has been my rock through it and made everything seem ok.
  3. My friends, they have all be very supportive through everything. They have also helped give me strength and make me believe that everything would be fine... and were correct... =D
  4. Work... I'm thankful for this as it gives me the freedom to do what I want to do financially, but also I get to use my skills.
  5. Sunshine.. it's not sunny today though... but it has been this week which has been very good, granted not so great when at work and it has been boiling... but being able to sit outside and have my lunch in the sunshine when I was at work it was great...
  6. Bed... my god, I have been very thankful of my bed after my 13 hour days at work... they have worn me out and made me absolutely shattered so coming home to a nice comfy bed has been wonderful...
  7. Meals out, we went for a lovely meal out on Tuesday which was very nice, we went to one of our local Italian restaurants... lovely food...
  8. Lie ins, I was looking forward to my lie in this morning, having had to get up and ridiculous a clock the last couple of days... it has been a bonus to have one and to be able to relax and do what I wanted to do this morning...
  9. Spending time with hubby. I am thankful of having time with my husband, it makes a change to be working day shifts as it means I get my evenings to cuddle up to my husband and also to relax together. It was great...
  10. Flowers... my husband has brought me some lovely flowers... they are gorgeous and always make me smile and they brighten the room up....

So there you go... 10 thankful things... so now hop on to the next blog...

Going forward again!

Today we had our pannel meeting.

We were both prepared to come away with our hearts in pieces and tears falling. Well it didnt really go like that.

We'd had advice from various people who had been through similar and had had bad results, they told us that if your social worker didnt support you then panel wouldnt go against them...

THEY DID!!

Panel decided that they didnt have enough evidence to stop our assessment. They have said that the sw will have to explore the issues with us..

It has all been positive...

Heres to the next steps on this journey.

Ten Things of Thankful Link Up 2

2 posts in a day? How lucky you are... so without further ado:

Ten things of thankful week 2 (please link up with us =))

  1. So numero uno... my wonderful husband, who not only brought me a gorgeous chicken and bacon pasta bake for tea last night but also brought me some beautiful flowers just because =)
  2. My mum. Who without her (and my dad) I wouldn't be here... but also I wouldn't be who I am today... but also because she is coming down this evening to go to CATS with myself and hubby...
  3. Sleep, after my mammoth day yesterday of 30 hours without sleep, I was glad to get into my bed and sleep from 8pm last night... I feel refreshed and ready for the day today...
  4. The gym, odd of course, but I am really enjoying it, and I'm really thankful for the time and motivation to actually go and do it.
  5. Carcassonne... I do indeed enjoy playing this game and we are thankful for the time to actually have to play it together, it's also good to relax =)
  6. Weight loss... I've lost weight over the week, which I am very glad of and obviously it's helping with the positiveness of the gym...
  7. The sun, at the moment it is not sunny, it is a bit cold and windy but through out the week it has been sunny and bright which has been nice (also meant outside swimming) I also don't overly mind the cold... as it means I can put layers on and snuggle up in them =D
  8. Swimming. I love swimming. I am a water babe and always will be =D I just love the freedom it gives you and also the fact that it doesn't matter how large you are aslong as you can float it doesn't matter... granted I do however love it and love to do front crawl...
  9. Good friends... Today I'm off to one of my friends baby showers, which should be good fun, and it'll also be very nice to see them and spend some time with them and also with other people that I used to work with.
  10. Last but no means least, time off work, it's been a bit stressful over the last week, what with new residents and things changing that it has been on the go on all of my shifts, so having until wednesday off is a pleasure and also a welcome relief...
So that is my ten... go to one of the many links below for other peoples thankfulness
